Chatfield

I was wondering how the weather would be for our co-op today. The air quality index was 120 yesterday thanks to the smoke and a small fire near our house (it’s usually in the 40′s so 120 is high!) I kept Grace indoors yesterday and told her that she’d have to wear her mask and/or carry some oxygen outside today. The AQI was 70 this morning but had crept down to the 50′s by 1pm.

Grace chose to wear the O2 so people wouldn’t stare at her (people stare when she has the mask on.) We met our group at the park and everyone had lunch under the trees, then we walked around the park.

There was no water in the creek so we crossed over to the pond, the water was way down so the kids had fun chasing frogs and gathering cattails.

We looked at tracks, played cattail war and then headed over to the kids area to play.

I tried to get a picture of this red dragonfly, but he was pretty fast.

The clouds rolled in and dropped the temps a bit, it was nice and cool as we wandered around the farm and saw the chickens and goats.

The kids managed to wear me down so their friends could come over and play for a bit. Bethany has everything ready for the Artwalk tonight, so that’s good. She’s donating some of her sales (if she sells anything) to the Colorado fire victims through the Red Cross. At any rate, it’s going to be a long night.
