Hannah and her test

My kids hate tests, Hannah had a test today…so I bribed her. I said if she did a good job (ie don’t cry) we’d all go see the Pirate movie. Well, it worked. She didn’t cry and she did great. She had to count to 100 by 1′s (really, she said, it’s faster to go by 10′s..), she had to read numbers, say which number is bigger and say the next number when prompted to. Then it was on to reading. Argh! Nonsense words, why she said? They make no sense! Yes, but the lady can tell if you can read real words by the way you read nonsense words. Then she was given a test to read – it was kind of hard and I asked if that was for K. No, it turns out it was a mid-1st grade test (Hannah read some of it.) She was then returned to the K test to finish with alphabet recognition.
The Pirate movie was cute and funny and we got to eat Pho beforehand – so it was a good day all around.

Glad to hear the day went well!!!
Thanks for the comment about Normandy. No, I hadn’t heard of Exercise Tiger. I read about it…wow!!! I was hoping it was a myth, but did some research and it really happened. How incredibly sad!
One point though…. I read that about 1,000 Americans died that day while something like 2,500 died on D-Day. So, more died then, though I found different numbers.
Thanks again!

Found another site that said 638 killed at D-Day. I guess I’m not sure which was more deadly!
