What you don’t want to read

I’m so glad for Bible study, which got moved to Thursdays now, because it’s a time to talk and reflect on the devotionals that I’ve read throughout the week. It’s a chance to unburden, because in real life people don’t want to read about crappy days and sappy stories – if they did there is a series called Twilight that fits the bill. So, I won’t bore you with my crappy Tuesday, sort of better Wednesday and dull Thursday. Not every day is a happy one and I was sort of out of sorts today. But, after talking with my friend and going back over the devotional today (which was all about how difficulties are wrapped up blessings, you just have to dig through the stuff on the exterior to get to the wonderful blessing inside – my words) I saw it a little differently. Sometimes we need that encouragement that yes, there is a God and yes, He does care about us – even when we have days that are sub-par.
By your side
Wrapped in difficulties,
lessons of trust are made.
Though you find it hard,
to believe your debts are paid.
Trust brings My peace,
and blessings from on high.
Bring Me your anxious thoughts,
My child, I hear your cry.
This gift of My peace,
is forever and all-encompassing.
Just see through the worries and the woe,
and come with praise and thanksgiving.
Let your worries unfold,
as you present them to Me.
I take each sacrifice of prayer,
and give peace that sets you free.
