My plans for the day were big: Eat at KFC.
Why, hello Mr. inanimate statue. Here let me fix your tie.
Hannah was too scared to get her picture next to the Colonel (why is it spelled like that? That looks nothing like Kernel.) Next plan: Crafts or art.
So far we did Pyrography (fire-writing.)
This is why my neighbors hate me, their kids could burn wood with a magnifying glass too, if only their parent’s watched over them.
Still, it was pretty cool, wear sunglasses though. Next: Paper bowls. These turned out so cool.
You cut strips of thick paper (think tagboard) and punch holes in both ends with a hole punch. Roll up a strip of paper and hot glue the end to make the peg that goes through the holes. Push the pegs through, fan out the papers, instant paper bowl. I put mine on the nature table.
Speaking of which, here is what’s on the nature table right now, feathers (lots of them), oriole nest, rocks, shells, bottles full of seeds and dirt and books.
The picture frame looms are coming along, every so often the girls add something to them.
The last thing added were plants from our GS camping trip. And finally, Hannah finished knitting her baby hat.
The yarn is so soft, I’m sure it will make some NICU baby very happy.
Now I’m down to another goal for the day: Read a book. I’m reading The Mozart Conspiracy, an interesting book so far. Also on the book list: One, Two, Three: Absolutely Elementary Mathematics.
