The Colorado Adventure

First flight

For me anyway.

James took me to breakfast at Perfect landing (by the airport) and we had a nice breakfast by the taxiway. The day was perfect for a flight, light breeze, sunny, and cool. We checked out November 617 Sierra Papa for our flight.

De-icing a Cessna is a bit different than clearing a 747 (we used a broom.)

We walked around and pre-flighted the plane, checked the inside, towed her out in the sun (to finish de-ciing) and then climbed in and asked for a take off. We took off on 17 L (sorry the windshield was dirty.)

Video of us on the ground (doesn’t James sound professional?)

Then we proceeded to cliimb to 8,500 feet or so.

We went to the Chatfield practice area, there is Marcy park and my house!

Here is a pretty frozen lake.

Here are some glorious front range shots and Roxborough red rocks sticking up.

Pikes peak and Indian peaks in the background here.

We started to turn at this point back towards the lake. Hey look, I can totally cheat at the corn maze now!

We swooped towards Mt. Evans to get these lovely shots.

Then back towards the east, look at the hogback sticking up down there.

Another shot of Chatfield lake, and Mt. Evans.

Video of some of the flight.

Then back by the mall, I-25 and clear to land on 17 L.

Plane ride ($$) + helping to de-ice and pre-flight the plane (free) + awesome views of Colorado (included) = Wonderful time with my Schnooke! (Priceless!)
