We're a busy Homeschooling family of 6. We think every day needs to be an adventure - so wake up and get moving!

The Colorado Adventure

What an awesome day!

It snowed last night and was still snowing this morning. The plow came by and plowed our street, a treat! We shoveled out 7 inches of snow on the driveway and I took James to the airport and then got the girls from a sleepover. After lunch we grabbed a cord of wood, matches, marshmallows and long fork thingys and headed over to Daniel’s park.

We saw the buffalo on the way there and other than 1 couple snowshoeing, we were the only ones there. I’m not sure why no one else was out in 20 degree, snowy weather, traversing through 7 inches of snow – I guess we were just lucky.

We lit a fire in the fireplace and tramped around in the snow. This building is so cool, a rock fireplace, halfway enclosed on 2 sides and open on the 3rd side.

Then we roasted marshmallow after marshmallow, I call this picture ‘is this the prefect ‘mallow?’

It was still snowing just a bit and very cold (as you can see by red noses.)

The fire warmed us up though and soon the whole bag of marshmallows was gone, how did that happen? No really, how did that happen? Hannah had more on her than in her.

We looked over the mesas covered in snow one more time and hopped in the car to go to Daz Bog.

We were having a nice time there until 2 of my kids spilled their hot cocoa all over the place. BTW, hot cocoa blends in really well with pink camo pants. Then it was back home to fix dinner (but not for me, I was off to TNO.) We only had 3 moms at TNO, but somehow we managed to talk for 3 hours, ahhhh, I love Teacher’s nite out, it helps keep me sane. Enjoy the snow, it will be gone in a few days. (Oh, and those things on my face are my new glasses and the pics are a bit blurry because of the snow.)
