We're a busy Homeschooling family of 6. We think every day needs to be an adventure - so wake up and get moving!

HOMEschooling doesn't mean you always have to be HOME!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Emerson
In structure there is freedom.

We dropped Joel off at CAP for transport to Jeffco airport for the SAREX (search and rescue exercise.) The cadets will practice mock searches with rotations around the different areas like: bringing in the plane, monitoring radios, helping in headquarters, being the search party, and being the lost party. Joel likes all of the above except being the lost party, because it involves hiking to an undisclosed location with your 40 lb ground team pack wearing BDU’s in the sun. It was 0600 when we dropped him off and then we went to Golden at the bottom of Lookout Mt. and dropped off James. He was hiking up the mountain from the backside headed to Buffalo Bill’s grave. This time he had a water backpack, so he was in better shape than last time. I went home to let the girls go back to sleep and clean up. James called after just an hour and a half and said he was there, a whole 1 ½ hours earlier than the last time he did it. So we got ready and headed over to pick him up.

We were so close to Cabrini, and James hasn’t been there before, so we stopped there too.

We walked up all 373 steps and back down just as the bells tolled 10 o’clock.

So, we’ve done a lot today and it’s not even noon!
