HOMEschooling doesn't mean you always have to be HOME!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Emerson

Cici’s tour

06 2nd, 2009

Yesterday we had a co-op at Cici’s. The kids took a tour around the back of the kitchen, saw the freezer and the back of the coke machine and saw the pizza prep area.

Then we made our own pizzas.

I requested alfredo sauce for Hannah and 2 crust-less pizzas for Joel and I.

The kids thought it was neat to sauce the pizza, cover it in cheese and toppings and watch it get cooked in the oven.

We sat and ate our pizzas and talked with friends, it was fun. One of the servers asked how we, as homeschoolers, managed to put something together where we could show up and meet and ’socialize’. We told her this was just 1 of many co-ops that people come to, that we have over a hundred members all over the Denver area and even a few up in the mountains, that we also have park days, mom’s night out, field trips, member-planned activities and events that we all go to. I think she was confused, oh well.

We raced home so I could take the last of the yearbook pics. All went well until I took out my memory card and was about to go downstairs. Then I had 1 more family show up and I couldn’t find my card. I asked Hannah and she said she didn’t know where it was. Then I told her I’d pay her $1 if she found it, then she said Grace threw it in the trashcan outside. Sure enough it was in the trashcan, but it was Hannah that had thrown it there, not Grace. Then she had the audacity to ask where her dollar was! Um….yeah, if you are the one who threw it away and then lied about it and then found it – you get no dollar.

Joel went to CAP and passed his test, his new rank is Airman senior. He’s been trying to past that test for a few months. You can only test on certain days of the month and if you fail you have to wait another month. So, he was very excited, now he’s got his sights on staff Sergeant.

Today we’re just cleaning and catching up on school. Starting tomorrow we’ll be volunteering for Wing’s at the B-17 exhibit. If you want some free fun, come on by. There is a tour of the B-17 when she’s not flying, also B-17 Flight Simulators, Veteran’s Corner, Airpower Theater, Young Eagle Airplane Rides, Pedal Planes, Aeromodeling Displays, Static WWII Military Vehicles along with Vintage WWII Reenactors and more! June 3 – 9, 9am-1pm at Signature Flight Support hangar at Centennial Airport located at 8001 S. Interport Blvd., Englewood, CO 80112
