Comedy, park, donkeys

OMIGOSH, we went to a comedy/juggling show at the library and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. The guy juggled a little, but most of his act was slap-stick comedy. The place was packed with probably 100 kids and adults, if not more, and they were all cracking up. If you need a good laugh, grab a kid (if you don’t have one you can borrow a grandkid, niece or nephew) and go down to your library and see a show. He was funnier than watching Bethany crack up when you say ‘pudding’ (I don’t know why she thinks it’s funny, but she does.)

Then we headed over to the park to play. We had a good group going and the kids got very sandy and dirty. There’s nothing better than chatting with a group of HS’ing moms while the kids are busy somewhere else. Then it was time to head over to my friend Maura’s house, visit her here at Woodstone Prairie.

Today was the last day they will have goats, tomorrow they are going to a new home.

So we played with Betty and Rose and said goodbye to them (no more goat poo for Hannah), but the big attraction was….2 donkeys.

They were Jack and Jenny, now they’re Max and Milly, but they might be Tex and Tilly soon. Milly (or Tilly) is very sweet and just wanted to have a good petting.

Blaze the horse even granted the girls (and Joel) a ride on him.

Then he was rewarded with food (see Blaze it’s good to be the pony ride.) We sat and chatted (and had some awesome zucchini bread and cinnamon tea) while the kids played and wandered around. Joel and M made wands and traded a few things. Hannah was chasing baby grasshoppers and dragging toys around. Grace was just thrilled that Blaze granted her a ride and Bethany and R played in the loft. Before we left a deer showed up in the front yard and watched us.

Maura, thanks for the food, drink and company, the kids had a great time. (I’ll post a Maisy pic tomorrow.)
