Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday is alive and well. We missed two weeks, I can’t remember why, so the kids wrote 4 letters apiece (which took Grace a reallllllyyyy long time.) I’m going to buy some tea packets (I love Celestial seasonings, but their tea bags are loose, I think they sell some in packets though) and start sticking them in with a little poem –

We had some tea when we wrote to you,
We thought you’d like to have some too,
So, sit down and have a sip of tea,
And all the time think of me.

Hannah decorated some envelopes with a lot of stickers and drank her strawberry tea. The aroma of strawberry, mint, peach and spice was very appealing. (Don’t drink the spice tea at night though, it has pepper in it and gives you bad dreams.)

We did our letters in the morning so we could go to the Mr. Shine show at the library. It was ok, Hannah and Grace had fun, but as you see here, Bethany thought it was babyish (note the roll of the eyes!) The summer reading program is about bugs, so he sang songs about bugs and did a few magic tricks.

He should stick to songs, magic was not his thing.

After that we went over to the 50 cent movie to see Horton hears a who’. That was a great movie. Jim Carrey was great as Horton, not over the top like he usually is. Steve Carell was great as the mayor. The storyline was good, the animation was great and the jokes were funny. The kids liked it (especially the anime scenes where they poked fun at Japanese animation shows like Pokemon.) Since we go see the Cat in the Hat show at the library every March for Dr. Seuss’s birthday we sang the ‘a person’s a person no matter how small’ instead of saying it.

Our lady bugs are starting to attach to the top of the ladybug house. This pic isn’t great but they are already shrinking and turning reddish.

Cool!
