How Sweep It Is!
Well, today is October 16th, but yesterday was Rocktober 15th!
They won close to midnight 6-4. I won’t put down the D-backs, they played a great game, but in the end it just wasn’t good enough. They almost caught up at one point and we defended hard to keep them at 4 points. Holliday was MVP and everyone was jumping around and waving brooms and Rockies flags. We are going to the World Series, how cool is that?!
Yesterday was crazy here. We did school and Joel was tired from staying up late the night before. So, he was staring at his math for about 30 minutes before he did 1 problem. Grace zipped though math and phonics and the ‘real’ story of red riding hood (where grandma and red are eaten by the wolf and then the hunter cuts the wolf open and the two people jump out. Then the hunter puts stones in the wolf’s belly and sews him back up. Then the wolf dies. Grimm is an appropriate name for those guys!) Bethany did math, science, history and I just picked up the book she’s supposed to be reading. I was sending invites for Joel’s party Sat. and getting lunch ready.
Then it was off to worship dance. I dropped off Bethany ran some errands and then came back with Grace. I forgot Bethany’s shoes somehow, so she danced shoeless. Then Grace was done and we went by the library to get books and the tailors to pick up Joel’s CAP jacket. They did a nice job and now he has a CAP patch, unit patch (Dakota Ridge Squadron) and a backwards BDU American flag patch.
Then it was back home to clean up, fix dinner and get ready to go to a women’s night at church. Heather came by and picked me up. It was a place for some people to sell their wares (like Mary Kay, baby blankets, candles, etc.) and for us to shop and eat some food. I didn’t buy anything, but I did get a makeup sample that will be my makeup for the SME Christmas party (I only wear makeup like twice a year, so I hate to spend money on it – this was free.) Then back home, ‘bye Heather’, eat my dinner, pick up Joel, and watch the Rockies until midnight.
There were some great plays in that game, good catches, awesome throws and hard-hitting strikeouts. The Rockies have won 21 of 22 games thus far, how sweep it is!
I don’t like to watch the games on TV so I was online for most of last night…but I did walk into the living room in time to see the winning out! That was sooo cool to see how excited and proud the guys were.
