Fishin’ again

Well, I lost my temper during Joel’s math (which wouldn’t have happened if I had read the rest of the instructions.) He had been on GCF and today it was LCM. I haven’t had that in awhile so I thought you pick the lowest number in the group, but noooo; you factor out say 175 and 75 and then multiply the highest powers of exponents of each number in the group, even if a number doesn’t appear in both groups (which was what threw me off.) Add to that Grace whining about France (doesn’t everybody?) Bethany reading Henry the navigator and complaining that she can’t make an astrolabe because I don’t have a straw and a metal ring and Kinko’s messing up my order - I was soooo ready to get out of here and go “fishing”.

I say that in quotes because I don’t think we’ll catch any fish.

We’re not supposed to “swim” in the river at this location either, but technically we weren’t “swimming” if we didn’t have swimming suits on, right?

We were fishing and making mud pies; which kind of requires that you be in the water.

Oops, I guess the sign said no “wading” either, well, we weren’t really wading if we were immersed in the water were we?

Look at the water, I ask you how can you not get in it?

It was so deliciously cool and inviting. The girls covered up my feet and legs and then we found out how the Rocky Mountains shifted and made the hogback (when I moved my leg.)

Bethany made some mud pie mounds and Hannah stepped on them. Click here to see them.

Grace got soaking wet and then dumped sand all over her head, no I don’t know why she did that, but I’ll be brushing sand out for a week!

Look at the footprints in the sand, the shadow of the sun makes them look like they’re popping up instead of down.

Here’s a shot of the woods (yes, we do have trees here in the mountain desert, they’re just all by the water.) Looks kind of like this:

The road not taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Oh and the Rockies won again, that’s 16 games now. (Each black square on the banner is a win.)

This would be the total games won for the Rockies now:

Another game today!
